while I would dearly like to see Motorhead by TPD (2.00 / 0) #1 Wed Jun 20, 2007 at 07:52:37 AM EST
one of these days - and can imagine live they kick serious amounts of arseage.

It's got to be either Suicidal Tendencies for me ("I saw your mummy - and your mummy is DEAD!"), I know nothing of their later stuff though.

Or Ozzy for the Randy Rhoads stuff.

after much deliberation, (heads it is), I'll go with Ozzy.

The only band on that list that I've actually seen live though is Megadeth

Rock Hard Abs are just a sw-sw-swivel away!

Two albums you must own are "Art of Rebellion" and "Lights, Camera, Revolution".  Thrash metal at its thrashy metalliest.

"How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can't Even Smile Today" is also a ripper.

There are by blixco (2.00 / 0) #2 Wed Jun 20, 2007 at 08:13:08 AM EST
few default bands.  The ones that, no matter what, I'll listen to them.  Very few.  Most music conjures or requires.

Some of it just rocks.  Early Stones is like that for me, and Motorhead, man, fucking Motorhead.  Fuck.  Yeah.  "Ace of Spades" at any time of the day or night is perfectly acceptable.

i once went to a charity event at a bar by 256 (4.00 / 2) #7 Wed Jun 20, 2007 at 09:17:46 AM EST
where they played ace of spades on repeat for six hours. you could collect pledges for how many times you could listen to it. best rock and roll set i've ever heard played at a hipster club.

The whole package by TurboThy (4.00 / 1) #12 Wed Jun 20, 2007 at 07:40:46 PM EST
A pathetic mashup of gender-confused eighties tight leather pants, faux-provocative gestures, inane lyrics and boring music. Appetite for Destruction twenty years too late and with twenty years of rockpop culture sediment leaving a plasticky veneer over a global music conglomerates attempt to enslave a new generation of eager customers that they have already lost.

I hadn't heard of them by spacejack (2.00 / 0) #13 Wed Jun 20, 2007 at 11:00:01 PM EST
Then found their myspace page, found out who they were, listened to a few tracks and discovered exactly that.

Nah, not exactly by TurboThy (4.00 / 1) #16 Fri Jun 22, 2007 at 07:07:14 PM EST
Saw them "perform" at the Roskilde festival last year. Pathetic. Monsignor Weiland (aside: anybody who performs with Fred Durst should be taken outside and gently shot) was prancing all over in tight leather pants like a post-op tranny on meth.

I'll tolerate the antics of Mike Patton any day over that shit.

ST has always done the same darned thing. I saw them 13 years ago, and I kept thinking "just play some more songs dude."

Sounds like a pretty cool concert.
